Celebrating our impact and milestones in engineering education. NOTE - this page is not fully updated and is a placeholder. We will continue to update as we conduct more classes!
Founded by passionate high school students to make engineering education accessible to elementary and middle school students in the Austin area. Started with a vision to inspire the next generation of innovators and problem solvers.
Collaborated with professional engineers who volunteered as guest speakers and mentors, bringing real-world experience into our classrooms.
Planning to expand our programs to reach more students across Austin. Developing new curriculum modules, building partnerships with STEM organizations, and working towards establishing UpDraft Engineering as a registered nonprofit to serve our community even more effectively. Developing more partnerships and expanding nationwide.
Recruited and trained 5+ dedicated volunteer mentors and guest speakers from various engineering disciplines. Our volunteers, combined, have contributed over 200+ hours of their time to help inspire young minds.
Facilitated the creation of many student projects including solar ovens, robotic vehicles, biomedical hand prototypes, and custom software applications. Every student gets to build, test, and present their work.
Maintained our commitment to 100% free programming, providing all materials and equipment at no cost to families. We've also loaned computers to students who need them, removing barriers to participation.
Developed a comprehensive engineering curriculum that balances theory with practice, covering mechanical, electrical, software, and biomedical engineering. Our modules are continuously refined based on feedback.
